RECURRENT LEXIS AND PHRASEOLOGY IN ENGLISH RESTAURANT REVIEWS: A DATA-DRIVEN ANALYSIS

This paper presents a corpus linguistic analysis of recurrent vocabulary and phraseologyin written English food discourse. More specifi cally, it focuses on the use discourse functions keywords, key multi-word terms lexical bundles in specialized comprising 200 professional restaurant reviews that were published online editions selected British American newspapers. The results study indicate most distinctive feature analyzed texts is frequent mention ingredients limited presence stance devices. frequently mentioned aspects referential content also show what evaluated total experience eating dining at restaurant. These fi ndings contribute to area forSpecific Purposes, off ering pedagogical potential can be exploited when developing purpose-made teaching materials for students food-related programs who need learn their target profession.
